On Friday night, three girls from Caulfield and I went out together and spend a lovely and girly time again. This time we had dinner at Indian restaurant. Since Sumita is from Indian family, she told us a lot about her culture while we enjoyed Indian cuisine. Well what attracted me the most was that she totally maintains her Indian identity even she was brought up in Holland. Well this isn't just her; here I 've seen many people who have strong admirations for their cultural origins even they were born and brought up in different cultures. Well, maybe for them it's not surprising at all since their history and religion are far more to do with their lives than us. It is, however, still amazing thing for me who spent most of her life in a country of single ethnicity.
After dinner, we went down to the city and satisfied our craving for sweetness ( Kay and I had gelati while Sumita and Reina desperately wanted to eat cheese cake..) . Then we looked for a nice place to have a drink, and after a long wanderings of the city, we finally found a nice bar in Southbank and celebrated our second gathering together. That was great fun.
By the way, I've got a great plan for the up coming Mid Year break...well, I'm going to Sydney with them next month!! I've never been out of Victoria yet, so it is going to be my first time to see other major city of downunder!
Have a nice weekend!
