Dear my special friends

Two Dutch girls, Sumita and Kay, are leaving Australia. Today was the last time we could all meet together.

I miss our chitchat; from intellectual talk to stupid conversation.

I miss our trip to Sydney; discovered more of Australia together.

I miss our gourmet trips; it was always our most interest!

I miss our cultural talk; Japanese and Dutch, with Indian and Chinese ethnicity.

I miss your hugs and smiles; it was always sweet.

I miss you heaps!

Thank you for being such a great friend. You were both great part of my life here in Australia.

hugs and kisses,

Mihiro

holiday delights

Since my holiday started, I've been fully enjoying this great time of school year. During the exam period, I've listed things I want to do after the exams, and now it's time to get down to those holiday delights. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more of Melbourne city, and also I'm going to have great fun with my friends! I'll try to keep you updated with a lot of my happy times for 2 weeks!!!

..surprisingly my NY cheese cake tasted beautiful:p

By the way, it's getting even colder here in downunder!

4 beautiful days in Sydney

I'm finally on holiday! After coming back from hectic but beautiful 4days in Sydney, my last paper ended this afternoon. I'm truly free for next 2 weeks..such a great feeling! Before I'll get more things to post here, I'm going to write about my great 4day-adventure in Sydney..

My first impression of Sydney; busy, metropolitan and big! It was such a contrast from more cultural and classic atmosphere of Melbourne, and I even felt a little overwhelmed by those massive skyscrapers.

Of course, we went to see Opera House, the most symbolic architecture of Australia! Visiting Opera House was one of the things which I've been looking forward to during this trip. No need to tell; it was amazingly gorgeous. The view of Harbor Bridge from Opera House was also beautiful.

On the second day, we took the tour to the Blue Mountains and saw the beautiful canyon from the cliff. It was huge and magnificent! By the way, we were mostly on the bus during the trip, and each day four of us were all totally exhausted from the long journey to the out back.

We also made a journey to Port Stephen, which is located upper north of NSW. Especially the dolphin watching was great fun!

On my last day in Sydney, we tried one of the most popular Japanese restaurants. The place was packed, and we waited more than a hour.. but the meal was totally worth it! Also there were thousands of restaurants in Sydney, and we enjoyed lots of different world cuisine each day!

The trip was great, but what I most enjoyed was those wonderful times with the girls. During the 4days, I had great time with them, and I even discovered more of their cultures. Thank you Reina, Kay and Sumita. It definitely became one of the best memories of my life here.

Lastly, some random fun moments from awesome 4days..

Happy holidays!

It's time for travel!

Finally I'm hitting Sydney tomorrow! Geez..I'm so excited! Yet I've been preparing for my last exam which is on next Monday, and the text book is going to accompany me at least on the plane ( I don't know whether I'll actually open it, but it still makes me feel better). Anyway, it's definitely going to be great 4days. Only thing is that a huge storm is hitting Sydney at the moment, and we may rarely have a sunny day during our stay over there. It's a little disappointing, but just hope it won't get too bad.

Apart from excitement for the trip, my surrounding is getting quieter day by day. My neighbour Nathan went home for the holiday, and therefore I'll be losing a great company for a month. Many exchange students are also leaving for their country, and I had to say goodbye to some of them. It's always hard to see people leaving.

Few more study for the day, and a big packing tonight! See you when I come back!

studious or procrastinators

Despite the last post which is full of holiday atmosphere, we are still in the mid of exam period. I'm trying to finish the study for my last exam by next Thursday so I will be able to have 100% fun in Sydney with no exam anxiety coming across my mind. Joni and I are encouraging each other to study and we've been studying in the library till late afternoon this week. As we all know staying in the library is quite torturing, lunch time is the only thing which we can look forward to. Short but nice break. It was even led up to coffee time today.

A few more weeks until the true emancipation!

Time as sweet as chocolate

After the nice city exploring by myself, I met up with the girls in the afternoon and spent another lovely time with fabulous food and chatting. Except Kay and I, other two girls had already finished their exams..it's so unfair!

This time we were supposed to meet for making plans for Sydney trip, but you can never expect 4 chatty girls only talking about it without getting any sidetrack... I don't really remember whether we actually made plans..

We had dinner at Lygon street where it's called Melbourne's "little Italy". It was my first time, and I fell in love with the place. There are so many Italian restaurants and gelati shops, and they were all very fancy. My pizza was.... "Bouno"! It was Wednesday this time, but I guess the place is going to be even livelier on the weekend.

After the dinner, we also tried one of the chocolate lounges in Melbourne Central. Everything was made by chocolate, and I had chocoholic-hot chocolate. Sweet! Other girls enjoyed their chocolate cakes. It was such a sweet night.

Kay and Sumita are leaving almost in 3 weeks. It is very sad since we were all getting to know each other well. But it's still too early to miss them..we'll have a great time in Sydney next week!
