Dear Chris
One of my French friends is almost leaving Japan after one year of time in my university.
I knew him only for 5 months since I had to leave for Australia, but we had become great friends during such a short time. Even after I left Japan, he was the only one who always sent me an email every week (or sometimes twice in a week),with his considerably improved Japanese. You don't know how much it meant to me.
His great ambition for experiencing Japanese culture always inspired me to learn more of Australia. I'm sure, he made the most of his time in Japan.
Chris! I sincerely hope you are leaving Japan with a great satisfaction and a feeling of achievement from all your wonderful experiences in gaidai. I believe we will meet again in the future, and have a conversation both in Japanese and English ( and a little French, I'll try). It was more than great to get to know you. Also thank you so much for your encouragement through your sweet weekly email every time. You probably don't know, but I learned a lot from you.
Wish your great success in the future.
love and hugs,
Mihiro

wow, Mihiro; I was shocked and also so glad to read this last post, thank you really much for your encouragements and your words!!... Even if I may not necessarily approve of the pictures, lol^. Don't worry, you are well right, I did have my time in a country that yet is very difficult to access as a foreigner: I just happened to have been fortunate enough to make the right encounters all along this year to do so, and of course, as you know, you have been a real significant one to that regard, especially at a time in which, I was fustrated and constrained by my non existent Japanese to stay within the ryuu gakusei circle. Mihiro ha hajimete no Nihonjin no deai de, ishou de takusan no tanoshii ji kan wo sugoshite, hontou ni arigatou gozaimasu! This country, as well as you personnally have probably had a pretty bad impact on me, but I guess I'll probably understand better once well settled back to French Lifestyle. You seem to be living also quite an adventure and I can only encourage you to continue enjoying your still long remaining moments and adventures over there. As you know, it's not everyday, we get to spend a year abroad^! No goodbye, of course, We'll continue to keep in touch (^mata ashita ne^)++
